As a result of COVID-19, the Panamanian State through the National Government took a number of measures to try to minimise the spread of the virus, thus ordering the temporary closure of certain companies, as well as the provisional suspension of certain employment contracts, the restriction of the mobility of citizens and also certain health measures such as the use of masks , gloves, alcohol, alcohol gel, frequent washing of hands with soap, estrangement among others, measures that have been taken as measured in March of this year thus affecting the commercial and economic activity of the country as a result and on the basis of scientific guidance it has been ordered to reopen the commercial activity gradually and for this purpose the guidelines for such reopening have been implemented , which are regulated in Resolution No. 405 of 11 May 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health, which lays down certain control measures in order to prevent the spread, contagion or re-signing of the virus, noting that companies that have been ordered to reopen activities must take into account that it must comply with certain health measures which are :
- Frequent hand hygiene, hand washing with soap and alcohol gel
- Wearing masks
- Physical estrangement, at least 2 meters away
- Personal protective equipment according to activity
- Cleaning and disinfecting areas and surfaces frequently
- Proper waste management
- Set working hours and restrict the number of people
- Monitoring employee and customer symptoms
- Managing work stress
In turn, it orders companies to set up a health committee of between 2 and 6 people depending on the size and activity of the company for the prevention of the virus, a committee that will last for the duration of the Pandemic.
It should be noted that the reopening of commercial establishments was carried out on a scheduled basis depending on the activities and development and control of COVID establishing a schedule of reopening of activities per season.
